Dr. Richard Lee has spent over 20 years in practice in central London, focusing primarily on cosmetic and aesthetic restorative dentistry.

A graduate of the University of Birmingham and alumnus of the Dawson Centre for Advanced Dental Study Florida, he has lectured internationally, training dentists in the latest minimally invasive aesthetic techniques.

Dr Lee was awarded his Masters Degree in Restorative Dentistry with distinction, winning the overall prize for the most outstanding student in his cohort . He is one of fifteen dentists in the UK to have achieved accreditation status with the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

A multi-award winning practitioner, he was the Dentist on TVs Extreme Beauty Disasters, which aired on the Discovery Network globally.

Presented by Dr. Paul Renner

Dr Renner was born in Nambour QLD where he completed his Bachelor of Dental science at the university of QLD and graduated in 1981, Paul completed ASID level IV accreditation in 1995.  Paul has been dentist in charge at several hospitals in QLD, a member of the ADAQ council from 1992-2006, ADAQ President 1998-2004, a member of the Dental Board of QLD 2000-2003 and Chair of the boards of Complaints committee. 

Paul authored and produced the original infection control manual for the ADAQ, awarded the FICD, awarded Associate Lecturer title at University of Queensland (UQ) in 2019 and lifetime membership at ADAQ in 2021. Paul has been in practice for 40 years including academic, general and government practice, with 30 years as a practice owner of a large dental practice in Dalby QLD. His interests in cracked teeth and vital pulp therapy has seen Paul collate and research these topics in detail. Paul has lectured and run hands on courses on numerous dental topics both privately and through UQ dental school and for over 15 years has been as an clinical demonstrator/ supervisor at UQ.

Presented by Dr. Bruce McFarlane

Dr. Bruce McFarlane graduated as a Dentist from the University of Manitoba in 1984 and as an Orthodontist from the University of Western Ontario in 1992. He is an orthodontic specialist practicing in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Dr. McFarlane is also a past assistant professor of graduate orthodontics at the University of Manitoba. Dr McFArlane is an internationally renowned speaker that has lectured on a wide variety of Orthodontic topics since 1995.

Dr. Michael Danesh-Meyer is a specialist in periodontics and dental implants, with over 30 years of experience. After earning his BDS and MDS from the University of Otago, he worked in Dunedin and Christchurch before moving to the USA, where he taught implant dentistry and periodontics at Temple University.

 

Since returning to New Zealand in 2000, he founded the Institute of Dental Implants and Periodontics in Auckland and lectures nationally and internationally on implant dentistry and regenerative therapies. He has authored numerous scientific articles and is recognized for his expertise in dental implant surgery, including the All-on-4® treatment concept.

Sabine Friedlaender has been working with DMG since the beginning of 2023 in the department of training and education, located in Hamburg, Germany. She is a certified dental-technician and a graduated business economist.

She’s been in the dental business for more than 35 years and knows the dental office with it’s specifics from business start-up to handover, very well. Sabine got a lot of her experiences, working for a German famous trader as a generalist, trading a product range from absorbent cotton to CBCT. A significant part of her live she advised as a key account of the dental industry as a specialist for CBCT and intraoral scanning.

She trains with her widespread dental knowledge and esp. the DMG product range, the DMG employees and DMG partners. Root canal restoration has been one of her core businesses since she started with DMG. Every dental, extraoral prosthetic has the need for a perfect core build-up as well as a long-lasting temporary crown.

Dr. Rafael Michiels studied dentistry at the University of Ghent. After his graduation in 2006, he chose to specialise in endodontics and completed his postgraduate training in 2009. In 2013, Dr. Michiels started his own referral-based endodontic practice in Hasselt, Belgium, where he performs root canal treatments on numerous patients. He is certified member of the European Society of Endodontology (ESE), Belgian Association for Endodontology and Traumatology (BAET) as well as the Dutch Association for Endodontology (NVvE) and has lectured at both national and international conferences. 

 

Asthma and oral health, what are the issues? 
Presented by Cathryn Carboon

Cathryn graduated as dux of the Associate Diploma of Dental Hygiene at Gilles Plains College of TAFE in Adelaide and holds a Master of Health Promotion from Deakin University. Cathryn has had a diverse and extensive career in dental hygiene over 30 years, including working in general practice, orthodontics, periodontics and special needs dentistry. Furthermore, Cathryn has practiced as a hygienist in many parts of the world, including Adelaide, Brisbane, Ballarat, Wangaratta, Neuss (Germany) and Wellington (New Zealand).

Cathryn brings with her extensive clinical knowledge and experience, and has been a valued member of the Colgate Professional Education Network since 2006 and works closely with Melbourne, La Trobe, RMIT and Charles Sturt Universities to educate the future profession.Cathryn is a knowledgeable and engaging lecturer and presenter.

Cathryn is the Victorian Chair of the Dental Hygienists Association of Australia and has also authored the oral health promotion picture book ‘Who is the Tooth Fairy’s best friend?’ which has been distributed around the world since its launch in 2017. Cathryn also is the  Program Lead of the Carevan Foundation Sun Smiles Oral Health Promotion Program.
