Cathryn Carboon

Presenter's Bio:

Cathryn graduated as dux of the Associate Diploma of Dental Hygiene at Gilles Plains College of TAFE in Adelaide and holds a Master of Health Promotion from Deakin University. Cathryn has had a diverse and extensive career in dental hygiene over 30 years, including working in general practice, orthodontics, periodontics, and special needs dentistry. Furthermore, Cathryn has practiced as a hygienist in many parts of the world, including Adelaide, Brisbane, Ballarat, Wangaratta, Neuss (Germany) and Wellington (New Zealand).

Cathryn brings with her extensive clinical knowledge and experience and has been a valued member of the Colgate Professional Education Network since 2006 and works closely with Melbourne, La Trobe, RMIT and Charles Sturt Universities to educate the future profession. Cathryn is a knowledgeable and engaging lecturer and presenter.

Cathryn is the Victorian Chair of the Dental Hygienists Association of Australia and has also authored the oral health promotion picture book ‘Who is the Tooth Fairy’s best friend?’ which has been distributed around the world since its launch in 2017. Cathryn also is the Program Lead of the Carevan Foundation Sun Smiles Oral Health Promotion Program.
