Dr. Asmaa Altaie

Dr. Altaie is a clinical academic and a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at the School of Dentistry, University of Leeds, UK. She is on the specialist list for Restorative Dentistry with the General Dental Council UK.
Following the completion of her Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS) degree, she completed her Master’s Degree (MSc) with distinction and PhD in field of resin composite materials at Leeds. She also completed 5 years specialist training programme in Restorative Dentistry undertaking extensive specialist training in Prosthodontics, Endodontics and Periodontology. Following that, she was awarded the Fellowship in Restorative Dentistry and Membership in Prosthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK.
Dr. Altaie is the Clinical Lead for the tooth wear rehabilitation service at Leeds and has interest in rehabilitating tooth wear, failing dentition and patients with missing teeth requiring full mouth rehabilitation and all aspects of fixed and removable Prosthodontics including dental implants. She is also involved in undergraduate and postgraduate education and supervision of postgraduate projects including MSc and PhD students. She is an author of multiple peer-reviewed publications and lectures at various national and international conferences and she was awarded multiple prizes for her work the prestigious Gold Tyson Medal for the Prosthodontics specialty exam. Asmaa is actively involved in research in the field of dental materials, resin composites, bioceramic sealers, tooth wear, adhesion, light curing and amalgam alternatives as well as clinical solutions in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics with emphasis on digital workflows in dentistry.
