Dr. Amy Calvin completed her Bachelor of Dental Science at Charles Sturt University in 2017 with multiple Deans Awards. She went straight into rural private practice but continued to push for further education and has been recognised by ADANSW, awarded with the recent graduate bursary. When The Australasian Collage of Dental Practitioners was founded Dr Calvin was pleased to secure her spot in the first cohort of the Aesthetic and Restorative Postgraduate Diploma, now. She loves acquiring new information and techniques and teaching those around her. She previously taught at the CSU dental school but most recently opened her first private practice which is completely digital and focuses on comprehensive restorative dentistry for all ages.
Dr Amy Calvin will be discussing elements of posterior direct restorative work that can streamline your workflow and improve your clinical outcomes with simple steps. This portion of the webinar will touch on a simple, ‘almost’ fits everyone solution for every day posterior rubber dam use that even your DA will love.
We will discuss the concept of caries management, detection dye and removal end-point. The use of air polishing and/or air abrasion will be explored as well as handy tips for matrixing in the posterior quadrants. To complete your adhesive dentistry it is vital for the clinician to understand the contemporary adhesive bonding systems available and appreciate when and where to use each product appropriately for a sensitivity-free and long-lasting results
Dr. Reina Yang graduated from the University of Melbourne with Honours in 2013 and was awarded the Melbourne University National Scholarship during her studies. With an obsession for learning and a keen interest for aesthetic dentistry, she completed the Post Graduate Diploma in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics through the City of London Dental School as well as the Post Graduate Diploma in Aesthetic & Restorative Dentistry with the Australasian College of Dental Practitioners. Reina has since started her training with Dr John Kois at the prestigious Kois Centre of Excellence in Seattle which covers the latest advances in complex treatment planning of rehabilitation cases. She is passionate about sharing the knowledge she has learnt from all over the world and spreading the philosophy of doing day-to-day dentistry to a high standard and through a minimally invasive approach. She owns a practice with her husband in Surrey Hills, Melbourne and is a mum to daughter Isla.
Dr Reina Yang will cover a streamlined workflow that facilitates reliable outcomes when working with composite materials in the anterior region. Anterior direct composites are commonly regarded as one of the more intricate procedures in dentistry, however with simplified protocols they can be made easier, more predictable and be a great minimally invasive option for our patients.
Throughout the webinar, we will cover the importance of planning in the aesthetic zone, the process of shade selection, tips for rubber dam isolation and effective simplified layering techniques. We will also uncover mastering morphology with the concept of ‘the shade is in the shape’ and discuss the ideal polishing sequence for ceramic-like results.

We will also uncover mastering staining and glazing as well as cementation protocols with clinical cases.
