Diagnosis, X-Ray and CBCT in Endodontics | Presented by Dr. Bobby Patel

Dr. Bobby Patel graduated from Bart’s and the London Medical and Dental School in 1999 and worked as a dentist in general practice. In 2006 he completed his endodontic training at the Eastman Dental Institute graduating with distinction. He was subsequently awarded Membership in Restorative Dentistry (MRD) the highest formal qualification available for the endodontic mono-specialty by the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and entered onto the General Dental Council’s Specialist List for Endodontics. In 2007 Dr. Patel moved to Australia to work in specialist referral practice and was later awarded membership of the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons (Endodontics). In 2016 he authored two practical endodontic textbooks with Springer Publishing, Germany.

New Advances in Endodontics | Presented by Dr. Jimmy Chan

Dr. Jimmy Chan graduated from The University of Adelaide in 2013 and has obtained his Graduate Diploma in Anatomy from the University of New England in 2016. Jimmy then moved to Rosebud, Victoria for a year before commencing his Specialist Training at the University of Adelaide in 2018.

In 2020, Jimmy completed his Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Endodontics), then resumed his International Certificate in Endodontics from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a registered dentist in Singapore and Australia and a member of the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons in Endodontics.

Dealing with Calcified Canals | Presented by Dr. Sass Pakdeethai

Dr. Sass received her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Sydney in 2004. With a passion for Endodontics, she returned to the University of Melbourne where she obtained her Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Endo) Degree in 2012. She has been working in Private Dental Specialist Practice since 2013. In 2014, she co-founded Wyndham Endodontics, located in Werribee. In 2019, she expanded her Practice to Caroline Springs where she founded Caroline Springs Dental Specialists. Apart from Clinical Practice, Dr. Sass Pakdeethai has been actively involved in Undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching at the University of Melbourne and La Trobe University. She has served on various Dental Committees and is the immediate Past President of the Australian Society of Endodontology (VIC Branch).

Predictable Management of Curved and Calcified Canals using Newer Rotary Files | Presented by Dr. Gaurav Vasudeva

Dr. Gaurav Vasudeva is a registered Specialist Endodontist based in Perth, WA. Gaurav obtained his dental degree from India in 2001. After working a few years as a general dentist, he went on to gain his specialist masters’ degree in Endodontics. He was awarded a diplomate membership with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (UK) in the specialist field of Endodontics and is currently part of their faculty of dental trainers and an international examiner in his field. After moving to Australia in 2012, Gaurav worked with the Tasmanian health services in a Clinical Lead role for the southern Tasmanian oral health services and held an adjunct Sr. Lecturer position with University of James Cook and University of Queensland between 2014 and 2018 while maintaining some private endodontic work. Gaurav moved to Perth in 2019 and currently works fulltime at his practice in Applecross, WA.

Overcoming Pitfalls in Endodontics | Presented by Dr. Shalin Desai

Dr. Shalin Desai completed his Doctor of Clinical Dentistry, specialising in endodontics at the University of Otago. Prior to specialisation, Shalin practiced general dentistry in private and public clinics. Shalin runs a specialist practice in Bella Vista, Sydney and holds an honorary educator position with The University of Sydney. He enjoys sharing his clinical knowledge with dental students and GP dentists via continuing education events. Shalin has published several scientific papers in international journals and is passionate about providing the highest quality evidence based endodontic treatments.

Pitfalls in Obturation | Presented by Dr. Mehdi Rahimi

Dr. Mehdi Rahimi is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Charles Sturt University. Mehdi graduated with a bachelor’s in dental surgery with distinction from the University of Otago (New Zealand). In 2002 and received his Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Endo) degree from the University of Melbourne in 2008. Mehdi is a guest lecturer at Sydney University and Melbourne University and a CPD mentor for the Australian Dental Association NSW. Mehdi is the branch federal councillor of the Australian Society of Endodontology (NSW), a fellow of the International College of Dentists (FICD), a fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy and a member of the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons in Endodontics.

This webinar will focus on giving you tools to help arrive at a correct endodontic diagnosis providing satisfaction for both you and your patients. Use of 2D and 3D dental radiography will be discussed throughout with the emphasis on the relevance of small volume CBCT scans including limitations. Overall treatment planning will be discussed including identifying poor cases early on to avoid disappointment for both you and your patients.


The webinar will cover some metallurgical aspect of CM with EDM technology endodontic files and how this relate to clinical practice. Some cases where the file has been used will be demonstrated. The newer biomaterials used in endodontic practice such as bioceramic sealers with its advantages and disadvantageous. The use of lasers in endodontics and selected cases for proof of concept. Newer ideas about canal disinfection such as gentle wave. Newer materials for effective biofilm removal.


Negotiation of calcified root canals remains one of the most challenging aspects of endodontic treatment. This webinar will explore the initial endodontic assessment, identification of calcified canals and determination of case difficulty. In addition, various methods used to manage calcified canals as well as the benefits and risks of such attempt will be discussed.


The most difficult or complex part of performing endodontic treatment predictably is root canal negotiation and achieveing patency. Majority of failures and bulk of referrals to endodontics is due to canals calcifications and blockages leading to canals still harboring bacteria. This webinar will focus on newer heat treated and high resistant rotary files with varied non standardised configurations and various instrumentation techniques to tackle and negotiate calcified and curved canals. We will discuss some protocols that are reliable and help you manage premolar and molar endodontic treatment with relative ease. We will also discuss briefly some adjunct disinfection strategies that will help achieve complete disinfection of the root canal system when used effectively with used in conjunction with appropriate rotary files.


Root canal treatment is a multi-step procedure that requires attention to details at every stage.
This webinar would provide an overview of clinical challenges faced during diagnosis, treatment planning and execution of mechanical and chemical phases of the treatment along with tips and tricks in overcoming such pitfalls.


This webinar will demonstrate the importance of effective sealing and obturation of root canals, along with its implications on the successful outcome of endodontic therapy. Key factors to consider during obturation, including some of the pitfalls as well as enhanced procedural efficiency will be discussed. This webinar will also showcase successful outcomes through a series of clinical cases.
