PRESENTER

Dr. Felix Wöhrle

Dr. Felix Wöhrle is passionate about dental materials and lecturing. He is a chemist by training and holds a PhD degree in chemistry. Since the beginning of his career with DMG, where he became the departmental head of the Scientific Affairs department in 1999 Dr. Wöhrle subsequently took on additional responsibilities. He has held various roles and positions within the company. The Scientific Affairs too department has seen various changes and re-attributions. As the department’s scope evolved, Dr. Wöhrle naturally expanded into training and education about DMG products. Since 2009 it has led to him reworking and holding the material science course for students of dental medicine in partnership with other faculty members at the University of Hamburg.

Session Overview:

There are still a lot of smaller and bigger challenges in dentistry. One of them is Molar Incisor Hypomineralisation (MIH). While the etiology still remains unclear, thanks to progress being made with the first research coming from Australia and New Zealand, there are now treatment protocols being initiated to treat the White Spot portion of the disease. The lecture will also show how some of the skills acquired in the MIH treatment can also be used to get more predictable outcomes in other more complex White Spot cases.
