James has held teaching appointments as Associate Professor with the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and Assistant Professor with University of Texas Health Sciences, San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Wealleans has authored over 10 published research papers and serves as a scientific advisor for the Journal of Endodontics.
In 2017 James invented guided endodontic microsurgery, for which he holds 2 US patents. He has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally. In 2018, after serving 20 honourable years in the Air Force, James retired as a Lt. Colonel. Recently, Dr. Wealleans resides in Sydney where he devotes his time practicing endodontics on Sydney’s Northshore and the Central Coast.
Session Overview:
Bioactive materials are reshaping modern endodontics—from how we obturate canals to how we manage repairs, perforations and surgical cases. In this fast‑paced, clinically focused webinar, Endodontist Dr James Wealleans explores the practical shift towards bioactive endodontics and why more clinicians are adopting Edge BioCeramic Sealer and Edge BioCeramic RetroFill & Perforation Repair Material in everyday practice.
The session unpacks the science behind calcium silicate–based bioceramics, examines how bioactive sealers differ from traditional resin materials, and demonstrates how these properties translate into predictable handling, simplified workflows and improved biological outcomes. James will share real‑world insights on obturation using Edge BioCeramic Sealer, alongside decision‑making and material selection for repairs, perforations and retrograde fillings using RetroFill.
Attendees will leave with practical, clinically relevant takeaways they can confidently apply in both routine and complex endodontic cases.
