08.35am Dr Raahib Dudhia (DMFR) | Are Radiologists Redundant? The rise of AI in dental imaging.
Artificial Intelligence is touted as the next major revolution in dental imaging. There are already numerous AI programs that claim to be better than clinicians at identifying caries, periodontal bone loss and periapical pathology. But how good are they really? And what does the future hold?
Join experienced dental radiologist Dr Raahib Dudhia as he explores the current state of AI in dental imaging and shares an interesting selection of clinical cases while discussing how AI could improve patient outcomes.

15.00pm Dr. Nick Fahey | Guided Surgery: The new practice standard for oral implantology
Guided surgery for implant placement is not a new concept in implant dentistry. Restoratively driven implant placement is a well-accepted and often quoted dogma, when clinicians consider implant positioning. However, guided surgery, which I believe to be the apogee of restoratively driven implant planning and placement still struggles to find wide scale acceptance.
In this presentation, I will put forward the case for computer guided surgery. Discussing the benefits of planning your surgery virtually before going to the patient’s mouth and the clinical advantages of guided surgery. Before looking to the future and how this fast-evolving technology may look.

15.30pm Dr Joe Alphonse - GP | Enhancing General Practice with Intraoral Scanners and Clear Aligners
Incorporating advanced technologies like intraoral scanners and clear aligners can significantly elevate the efficiency and accuracy of general dental practice. Intraoral scanners provide precise digital impressions, enhancing diagnostic capabilities and patient comfort while streamlining workflows. These scanners eliminate the need for traditional impression materials, reducing chair time and increasing patient satisfaction through a more pleasant and efficient experience.
Clear aligners, on the other hand, offer a modern and aesthetically pleasing alternative to traditional braces. Leveraging the accuracy of intraoral scans, clear aligners are custom-designed to provide effective and discreet orthodontic treatment. This presentation will delve into the practical applications of these technologies, showcasing how they can improve clinical outcomes, patient communication, and overall practice growth. We will explore the integration of intraoral scanners and clear aligners into your practice, paving the way for a more advanced and patient-centric approach to dental care.
